About
Toi Kupu Gallery came about as a way to satisfy a creative streak.
For many years I appreciated the creative art processes which led to the design of bold statement jewellery.
This process allowed me to think about the concepts of turning kupu (words) into wearable art. It became a healing medium, keeping emotional hands busy.
Toi Kupu is a play on words — a way to convey a message, promote connectedness and bring healing.
TOI
- (noun) native, indigenous aborigine, indigene

KUPU
- (verb) to speak
- (noun) word, vocabulary saying, talk , message, statement, utterance, lyric
TOI PUERU

The Toi Kupu creative practice came about through the development of the concept of ‘wearing’ your loved ones. It was envisioned as a powerful way to honour, acknowledge and encourage conversations about precious people, events and other elements of life that should be remembered.
